We asked Sarah…

How have you been involved in Holiday Helpers?
A: I started to volunteer with Holiday Helpers in 2023 as a volunteer in the warehouse with my husband and two of our children. We helped sort and wrap gifts and I left with a feeling of wanting to give and do more, I am excited to be a part of the Holiday Helpers Volunteer Board.  

What is your favourite Christmas tradition?
A: My favourite Christmas tradition is decorating gingerbread houses with my three children on December 24th. It’s always a mess of candy and icing but it’s a wonderful way to slow down and enjoy the holiday and spend time together getting creative. 

Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
A: As a child on Christmas Eve we would attend a party and after dinner everyone (20 adults and children) would go and carol at a neighbour’s house. We would then get invited in and bring the next house along and so on it would go until the crowd barely fit into the final house. It was always such a fun way to spend Christmas Eve. 

If you had an elf name, what would it be?
A: Sprinkles. I love holiday baking! 

What’s the one Christmas dish or snack you can’t live without?
A: I love snacking on candy canes but the one dish I look forward to on Christmas day is a breakfast casserole.
