Holiday Helpers started with two sisters, a big idea, and an even bigger desire to make Christmas brighter for families in need. April (right) and Sarah (left) Rutka launched the charity with one goal in mind — to ensure every family wakes up to a holiday filled with joy, dignity, and love.

April brings the organizational wizardry (and a love for a good spreadsheet), while Sarah adds the creative spark and community connections that keep the sleigh running. Together, they’ve grown Holiday Helpers from a small family project into a nationwide movement that rallies thousands of donors and volunteers each year.

When they’re not busy running Santa’s Warehouse, you can find them swapping gift-wrapping tips, hunting for the perfect ribbon, or convincing each other to taste-test just one more holiday cookie.
