Here’s another inspiring family story as we near t Here’s another inspiring family story as we near the start of the holiday season✨🎄

After arriving in Canada as newcomers, Maria, Daniel and Lucas faced the challenges of starting over in a new country, including not knowing anyone and not yet mastering the language. Their first Christmas in Canada brought a welcome reminder that they were not alone.

Through Holiday Helpers, their family received warm clothing, household essentials, bedding, a Christmas tree and gifts for their son. More than the gifts themselves, these thoughtful items helped bring a sense of warmth, comfort and home during a time of so much change.

In their thank-you letter, the family shared, “la bondad y solidaridad no tiene fronteras” — “kindness and solidarity have no borders.”

Helping newcomer families feel welcomed is an important part of what we do at Holiday Helpers. This holiday season, you can help make a family’s first Christmas in Canada one they’ll always remember ❤️

As Paula sings Feliz Navidad, it’s hard not to smi As Paula sings Feliz Navidad, it’s hard not to smile. But behind this joyful moment is a story of resilience, sacrifice, and a mother who crossed continents to give her daughter a brighter future.

After receiving their Holiday Helpers gifts, Maria shared this letter with us.

“My daughter and I are from Espírito Santo, Brazil. We came to Canada with only two suitcases and a big dream: to give Paula the opportunity to learn the local language and build a better future. Our journey here has been challenging. The climate is very different, and not speaking English made everything even harder.

Receiving your gifts filled my heart with joy and emotion. Every gift was far more than a material gesture. It was a beautiful expression of care, kindness, and compassion that deeply touched our hearts.

Paula loved all the gifts and especially adored the Moana doll. The clothes looked beautiful on her. I was also so happy with everything I received. Most of the items we have at home were donated and previously used. You gave us new items, all beautiful and chosen with such care, and that meant so much to us.

With the gift cards, we were able to buy shoes for both Paula and me, something we truly needed.

God has placed true angels in our lives, and you were one of those angels. We are deeply grateful for all the love and care shown in every thoughtful choice you made. Thanks to you, our Christmas was truly wonderful.”

You can make Christmas just as magical and life-changing for families like Maria and Paula’s ❤️🎄

Some thank-you letters stay with us forever! ❤️ T Some thank-you letters stay with us forever! ❤️

This one came from Emily, a single mom of four, after her family was sponsored through Holiday Helpers.

“I don’t think I will ever find the right words to fully express what you gave us this Christmas. But I want to try.

When the couple arrived to drop off the gifts and I saw the boxes, I was completely shocked. I held it together until they left, and then I cried like a baby, out of deep gratitude. It was one of those moments where kindness hits you so hard it takes your breath away.”

On Christmas morning, her children woke up to gifts chosen just for them, but what surprised Emily most was that someone had thought of her, too.

“As a mom, it’s so easy to pour everything into your children and forget yourself, so to be remembered in that way meant more than I can say. It felt so comforting and validating to receive something thoughtful just for me.

You didn’t just give gifts, you gave us a feeling of warmth, safety, and being seen.”

To every sponsor, donor, volunteer, and supporter, thank you. Because of you, families experience more than a joyful Christmas morning. They feel cared for, remembered, and reminded that their community is behind them.

❤️ Thank you for making moments like this possible.
